I met sweet Flora today, she is one of my cherished darlings that I sponsor through World Vision. Imagine that, not just meeting her, but playing with her (we threw the ball around and worked up a sweat). We had some laughs and then her family was gracious to make us some tea in their hut. She gave me a beaded ring and a bracelet, more than that, she gave a smile that wouldn’t quit. Now, here is something, while Flora is shy, she was the one to lead us in worship! Mary was our translator (lovely!) and she told me the song was about giving glory to God! We worshipped together and then I was able to show them the e-van-ge-cube. They asked that I would pray for them, how humbling!
There we were in their mud hut, singing “Glory to God” in Swahili, praying and enjoying the presence of God together. Can’t stop smiling. Yet, as I type this back at the hotel in Arusha, the Muslim call to prayer is loud and clear. Darkness and light! World Vision is a bright shining light in Tanzania and in 99 countries all over the world and we get to partake in that as sponsors ~ w hat a joy!
